I love my shows

The Bill got sacrificed for bath time. It was worth it to just lie there and drift off. Did I miss anything particularly slashy?
I did, however, catch Crossing Jordan and West Wing. (It had the little bonding "your gonna lose" speech from Toby, which I so enjoyed. Hey, US fans, will I be seeing Sam again this season, or is that it?)
I really enjoy those two shows. I have favourite quotes from each, which just made me laugh. I loved Toby's comment to Sam "You feel qualified to give the seminar on Call Girl Caution?", and I also liked Nigel and Bug talking about the idea of Jordan being gay:
Bug: "But she's had boyfriends."
Nigel: "The phrase is bisexual, love."
Bug: "Never say the words 'bisexual love' to me again."
Hee!

I've started to get hooked on that show. Is Nigel gay?

Watch! Give me another slasher watching this show with me. (Because, yes, it is all about ME!!! *g*)

Date: 2003-07-31 01:14 am (UTC)I'd say, I think the "love" was kindave a big hint. I saw that conversation as Nigel giving Bug an even bigger hint. (more like a sledgehammer, but I've lost my non-slashy perspective years ago).
I've slowly been sucked in, I've watched a part of the show before Angel for a while and liked it. Of course most of my thoughts have been along the line of "wasn't she in Law & Order and wasn't he in Sliders etc.
Now I have to watch it.

Yay! See, other slashers pick up on it too. I mean, yeah, Nigel's occasionally forced into the role of "best friend giving girl advice" when it comes to Bug's crush on Lily, but I still think that there's major potential there.
wasn't she in Law & Order and wasn't he in Sliders etc.
Yeah, they both were. I never watched L&O, but it took me a lot of episodes to stop thiking of Woody as "the Sliders guy". *g*

Date: 2003-08-02 04:33 pm (UTC)It occurs in a S2 episode (roughly the fifth episode in) which just screened here in Aus. Basically, the girlfriend of a conservative lesbian radio counsellor/talk show host, is found dead. When Jordan talks to the talk show host, they really connect.
What sparks the conversations about Jordan is that she lead the talk show host out of the police station (or morgue, but I think it was the police station) past a mob of reporters, and there were photos taken of her looking very concerned and protective, with one arm sheilding the talk show host.
These pictures end up in the society section of the newspapers, with them writing about Jordan as the talk show host's new girlfriend.
Of course, this leads to everyone at work having to get in a comment or two. Personally, I love the comments between Nigel and Jordan:
N: I've always wondered about you.
J: Look who's talking.
N: Touche, love.
There's a bit of a moment at the end between Jordan and the talk show host. Nothing too overt, just a tense moment that cold have become more, and the talk show host tells Jordan that 'she felt it too' and that 'it doesn't have to mean anything'. Jordan tells her that it feels like the talk show host really knows her, but 'she's not gay'.
Hope that helped. *g*

Date: 2003-07-31 06:22 am (UTC)Do you mean the scene in bar between Toby and Sam from Red Haven's on Fire? If so, then no, that's it for Sam, and no one ever mentions him again, no confirmation that he lost (or won), or what happened to him after that. I figure he drowned in the Pacific Ocean. ;)
Maybe John Wells will clean up that mess with some character mentioning where Sam is.
Swishbuckles!
Date: 2003-07-31 04:13 pm (UTC)Hmmm... Yeah, it felt like a farewell episode, so I'm not too surprised. On the other hand, I really liked the scene with Toby, and actually agreed with the decision not to show a scene like that between Josh and Sam.
Let's admit it, Josh likes to win. He is not the guy to console you when you're about to lose. Toby, on the other hand, has plenty of experience losing campaigns, and knows that the victory doesn't always go to the best man for the job. He's also a guy who hasn't let losing demolish his self-confidence, or his desire to do the right thing. If there's one character to be holding Sam's hand through this, then it's Toby.
Or canon-Toby at least. Fanon-Josh might work better... Hmmm... Nah, I still think he might be difficult during a loss.
In happier news, I can't stop giggling at your icon.
