(no subject)

You know how you get to that stage of tiredness where you're too tired to go to bed? It's just too much effort to get up and go to sleep? I'm there right now.

On the good side, I just finished a rough draft of my Remix Redux challenge. (Can we insert a quick: "Ew! I wrote het!" here? No, that would just be immature.)

*shrugs* It's odd. I can write slash smut, and yet, just writing a het kiss? I have to stop and think twice about how to describe stuff. (Or, it could be because I'm tired... *g*)

Anyway, michellek, I just emailed it to you for a second opinion on the Amy pov.

In case I haven't mentioned it here? "Don't get me wrong" by the Pretenders is THE song for happy, optimistic, falling in love/ridiculously crushing on someone. (I can never apply it to a definite pairing, it just works well for all pairings, all fandoms.)

Most amusing thing I heard this morning was listening to Triple J. "President Bush has called for marraige to be defined as a woman to a man, or a man to a woman. He says gay unions threaten the sanctity of marriage. ... He seems to be mixing up gay unions and Kerry Packer."

It's Ash Wednesday.

I hadn't even realised that until celli posted about Lent.

Mind you, I'm not really a practicing Catholic, but... I kinda want to do something this year. Not even necessarily go to church, just... practice my technical religion a little.

Hence, for Lent this year, I'm giving up chocolate.

Caffeine isn't enough of a habit for it to be hard to give up, and anything else would just be ridiculous. No point giving up the stuff that's necessary for you to be healthy. It was always stressed to us that you give up the stuff that you don't *need*, but really enjoy. (Hence, LJ, email, and slash aren't acceptable for Lent, because I really need them.)
